2007, gone to heaven....

So, 2007 comes to a close. A pretty quiet year for me here on LiveJournal. Just like every other year there were mistakes made, opportunities lost, time wasted and all that other good stuff. But looking back on the year that has passed, it's hard not to appreciate the choices that were made that actually resulted in something special. This year I drove around the country in a van packed to gills with my friends playing music. I walked around Times Square and Greenwich Village. I slept under the stars in Kentucky. I climbed San Francisco's hills on Haight Ashbury. I was fortunate enough to visit the MoMA in Manhattan and the jar museum in Muncie, Indiana. I got to meet one of my heroes, Johnny Marr, and was very happy to find him to be an amazingly nice individual. I saw the Stooges in Chicago with Mandy, one of the best shows I've ever been to. Also with Amanda I endured the David Lynch weekend in Fairfield and, perhaps more importantly, the singular experience of staying at Mt. Pleasant's Iris Motel. I was glad to be able to re-establish contact with friends that I hadn't spoken to in too long. I was also glad to ride the new Mummy indoor rollercoaster at Universal Studios Orlando. Relationships were strained, broken and/or reignited...sometimes the same ones :-). So...2007. Pretty good, but I think we can all do better. On to 2008.
