the bad news: i have a bit of popcorn stuck in my tooth.
the good news: it was good popcorn.
tomorrow is justin day. this week hasn't been all that fantastic (and this morning, when i was going to get a sleep in, the fridge decided to go kaput so i got dragged out of bed to vacuum half the house. cos you know, the fridge guy can't see what pigs we are.) so i've been doing my best at looking forward to friday. looks like i'm going to be missing the camels tonight, but thems the breaks. my head hurts anyway so an early night might be in order.
you know the labels the pharmacy puts on prescription meds? well on mum's the other day, they wrote a get well soon message. very sweet. considering she's one of their best customers these days. ha. we're always in there for something.
didn't get kicked out of the zanzibar on the weekend! we were heading to the townie, but it got changed to zanzibar. i survived. but i did get my id checked twice (door, then another 'curity at the bar) and had a mixup with one of the bartenders.
long story short, i gave linzie $10 to get me a beer, cos she was closer and i was lazy. she comes back with beer and change. i notice i've been overcharged $5. she goes back "um she paid with a ten," him: "no you gave me a five." now i am 100% sure i gave her a $10 note because that was the only note i had in my wallet. so he counts out his till and i come over to the bar. it balances. i have a bit of a shit and suggest that he has probably made a previous mistake then. linzie says not to worry, she'll give me $5. go sit, have beer, bitch about stupid zanzibar.
awhile later he comes over to our table "i'm so sorry, i found a docket and you were right. i am really sorry." i should've said "yeah well you're a fucking moron now give me a free drink" but he seemed so apologetic and i am hardly a confrontational person, i simply said it was okay and thank you. he was honest about his mistake in the end. ten points to him. linzie was also quite happy she got her $5 back. extra drink for her! haha.
