As always, we arrived at the Croatian Cultural Centre disgustingly early. It was about 9:30, and I really had to pee. Unfortunately, the Asian Store wasn't open until 10. So uh, we waited. Then I peed and purchased a chocolate bar and a Jones Cream Soda.
We went back to the stairs, and a very long period of time passed. I also had a crazy nosebleed, with kind of sucked. Then Fran, who is from Chile, showed up. She has the best accent ever.
We blew up a condom, and drew a face on it. And um, we have a video of it walking around?
Then Say Anything showed up. There was a lot of waiting, which I could describe, but it would just take up space and bore people.
So, Parker came out, but he was on a cell phone and I didn't want to disturb him. I had a crazy panic attack, because I have loved Parker Case for about 5 years and he is my favourite person ever. I may possibly have a creepy obsession.
And we met Max. Well, first we met Hana, because she was adorable. She was only 14 and it was her first concert ever. She actually cried when she met Max. She's my new favourite person ever, and she gets all freaked out when I hit on her. <3
When Kit sends me my picture with Max, I'll put it here. Okay? Okay.
We were hanging out with Hana and her mom, who was pretty cool, when PARKER and ALEX came back. I was so ridiculously nervous, but Parker was so sweet. He told me he liked my coat and that I looked like I belonged in Narnia. Yeah.
And I got my photo with Parker, which you can see above.
I actually had to stop Alex to ask for a photo, which made me feel bad, but he was nice, so it's fine.
I can't think of anything else brutally exciting that happened while we waited. We chatted with Coby about Brand New, which was actually kind of weird. It felt like we were gossiping. We were like, talking about what a diva Jesse is.
I'll put my photo with Coby here.
So, we got inside, front row, of course. Attack In Black were pretty good. To be honest, I'd never heard them. From what I heard, they had a bit of a folk-y sound, which I always appreciate. Apparently Ian, the bassist one, is named Peanut Butter. And uh, drummer Ian (I think he was the other Ian. I know there were two of them) was one of the girliest looking men I've ever seen. He was cute, but it was almost too much. He had a very girly haircut, and I think he should have balanced it out by dressing slightly manlier. This is, of course, my personal opinion.
Say Anything opened with some new song I didn't know, but then they played Belt and Woe. They didn't play Yellow Cat (Slash) Red Cat or Little Girls, which was really disappointing for me. But um, they played Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too and An Orgy of Critics. That I remember. Everything else was new. It was quite the short set, because they were just openers.
I got out, because I figured I'd let the Thrice fans have front row. I'm not fond of Thrice, so you know...
I bought the Say Anything shirt with the dinosaur.
We hung around in the lobby, met Alex many, many more times. At one point, we thought he had been in the bathroom for a creepily long period of time. He was clearly having gay sex.
Me and a girl whose name I don't remember went on a Parker hunt. That failed, so we just asked Alex to fetch him.
I love Parker Case.
I was wearing my Smiths shirt and he complimented it, then he was like, "Hey, you're the girl with the jacket! That's awesome. You're so retro." So, clearly, Paker approves of my taste in clothes.
I met a girl from Seattle in a Brand New Mics Are For Singing... hoodie, and we loved each other's shirts, so we decided to be friends. It didn't last long, but the thought was there.
Holly and a girl whose name I do not remember wrote ridiculous things on Attack In Black's van. I'll try to find out exactly what it said, so that I can edit it in when I add the photos. I know it was something that'll be awesome when they're driving down the highway or whatever.
And I got a Thrice poster. And we met a girl with this adorable little albino rat. It was so cute.
And then I went home.
