In Character Information

character name: Orihime Inoue
Fandom: Bleach
Timeline: Chapter 436
character's age: 16

powers, skills, pets and equipment:
SHUN SHUN RIKKA
Orihime's spiritual power manifests as six tiny faries which reside in her hairclips. These six faries work together to give her defensive, healing and offensive abilities.
Santen Kesshun /'Outer Shield'
This is comprised of three of the faries forming a 'shield'. This shield repels 'negative events'.
Sōten Kisshun /'Inner Shield'
Two of the faries form an oval barrier around whatever Orihime wishes and return whatever is inside that area to it's state before being injured. Rather than simply healing, it is a rejection of events. She has used this power to return an arm, and even to bring the dead back to life. Some have stated that this power 'tramples on God's territory'.
Koten Zanshun /Repelling 'Both sides of the Shield'
When this technique is used, one farie is shot at an enemy. It breaks through them and then splits them in two, by setting a shield up inside of them.

All of these abilities, especially Koten Zanshun, are affected by Orihime's mood and how much of her heart is in what she's doing. She has often found her offensive ability compromised because she didn't want to hurt anyone.

SPIRITUAL AWARENESS AND CONTROL
Orihime is extremely adept at locating her friends through sensing their Reiatsu/spiritual energy. She can also sense enemies and other spiritual beings.
She has an unnaturally high level of spiritual control, able to withstand other's spiritual pressure despite it being quite high.

MARTIAL ARTS
Orihime has been trained in martial arts by her best friend and is capable both of withstanding a fair beating and of dishing one out (to low-level shinigami) on her own.

canon history: Here's an overview.
I'm taking Orihime from just before Ichigo wakes up. Aizen is defeated and all's good, and Orihime knows that Ichigo is going to lose his powers but Ichigo doesn't yet. /o/

personality: Orihime is a happy, imaginative girl who is friendly, caring and only a little strange. She daydreams, spaces out, hums to herself, cooks up strange combinations of food, does things without thinking and bursts out with strange sayings that most other people don't follow.
At least, this is how she'd appear to most observers.

Orihime cares deeply for her friends and would do anything for them. Part of this (for her, at least) includes trying to keep them from worrying about her. Therefore she'll try to keep on smiling in front of everyone even if she's not feeling as 100% as she usually does. It's a little ironic that she doesn't often allow her friends to look after her as much as she'd like to look after them.

At times she struggles with her inability to be as nice as everyone expects her to be. She gets jealous and feels blue just like any other teenage girl, but feels that she should be able to overcome this. She has self-esteem issues that most likely arise out of her abusive upbringing, and which may account for 1) how much and how deeply she appreciates everyone who does show concern for her and b) her desire to keep others from being hurt wherever she can.

A pacifist by nature, she will do whatever she can do keep others from being hurt (even enemies), but she wants to do what she can to what she can to help her friends in their own struggles and fights. Her pacifism, however, has been a hindrance to her developing spiritual abilities. Her one offensive ability has been pretty ineffective until this point because Orihime really does not wish to hurt anyone.

Consistently in the top three students of her class, Orihime is much more intelligent than many people would guess. Moreover, she is not as naive as she appears to be. Since her abduction by Aizen, Orihime is more aware that not everyone is as pleasant as they appear, though she will still, by default, give them the benefit of the doubt. She's very good at picking up on how others are feeling, or what is motivating their actions. The better she knows them, the better she can read them.

Despite all of this, Orihime is genuinely happy and (circumstances notwithstanding) carefree. She's confident enough of herself to throw herself into situations without much forethought, such as climbing down a drainpipe at school to see her friends. When circumstances call for her to be serious she is (and quite serious at that), but that doesn't stop her from smiling and having fun with he friends when she can.

why do you feel this character would be appropriate to the setting?
From a canon where other 'worlds' are part of her life and fighting monsters (both giant and human-shaped) are the norm I think Orihime will fit well in Scorched. She's been through some rough times in Hueco Mundo, and I'd like to see how she learns to live with what she's seen and experienced in a setting other than her home.
