Escaping The Past

May 13, 2007 22:49

I ran my fingers through your hair
when you said you were scared.
I took you under my roof and away
from the life you were being forced to live.
Everything was going great until the money got stiff.
It didn't matter anyway we thrived off love
The real kind, not the kind I felt for the girl with the dove.
Neither of us looked back
as we drove down the street.
The rearview mirrors were obsolete.
The burning apartment behind us
Left it to crumble away to dust.
After what I went through I feel my actions are just.
Who cares?
Let's park the car and burn a celebratory blunt.
We escaped like we planned
We executed the prison break
and spoke about moving to another state.
Fuck that, let's tests this spaceship's lengths
and go to outerspace.
