And, yes. I'm SO ready for this semester to be over. Not even kidding. I'm only taking one class next semester, and hopefully after that semester I will be able to quit my job and go to school more full time (i.e., decide on a second masters to get and probably move back out Maryland ways [Silver Spring, anyone??]). Because I can't sit in the back of the library bitching with Kathleen for the rest of my life. Srsly.
Way to call off work. Srsly again. I almost called off of class tonight, because I knew it was going to end up being that economics part of book publishing that I texted you about. But I felt guilty. And I shouldn't have, because it REALLY wasn't worth it, and a lot of people called off.
And I adore research. It's literally THE reason why I'm getting my MLS. I've come to realize that it is the main thing I like about academia.
Related: Tonight I was researching research on Agrippina and Germanicus (if that makes sense...in essence, my term project is to research the research avenues that are available on them). They are so amazing (sorry, I need to geek out). Apparently at some point Germanicus also did all of these translations of this Greek philosopher's astrological theories. I don't know. He's amazing. I love him. Hence why my iPod is named after him...
ANYWAY, the point of this IS that there's no good fiction on them. The best you've got is Graves' I, Claudius (which is lovely, but not THEM centric). So I want to research the hell out of them, and then share all my research with you, and then you can write a fabulous story about them. You'll like them, I promise. In literal order: "Divine" heritage, 9 babies (including pervo!Caligula and the mother-of-(the city burning)-Nero), mutinous armies, poison, woman PWNING politics, perverts, treason, suicide, revenge, tragedy. It doesn't get more dramatic than that. Plus she died in 33 AD, so, about when your boy Jesus did. And I'm sure that, at that time, everyone cared more about her dying that Jesus. Bonus points?
Essentially, I've decided that this is how we should collaborate to make a fortune. Maybe once it's done they'll make a movie. Or, better yet, an HBO mini series.
