Sirius dies at the end!

Saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix tonight with Maggie.

It was really good. Really. They cut a lot, but it was a cohesive movie that stayed pretty true to the spirit of the book.
Awesome things:
-Ginny. (kicked ass)
-Luna. (spot-on)
-DanRad. (getting nekkid with horses on stage helps you stretch as an actor, apparently)
-Ron. (best movie!Ron of all movie!Rons)
-Umbridge! (pure EVIL, O-M-G.)
-Bellatrix. (Helna Bonham Carter is a-ma-zing, omg)
-flashbacks (in Harry's brain) of Baby!Trio
I could go on, as the positives about the movie outweigh the negatives.

However, the Lame things:
-Seamus. (sucks at fighting convincingly with Harry)
-the ending fight in general seemed kind of...not as exciting as in the book (probably because the kids didn't get to fight as much as they should have - there was no tap-dancing Neville, no brains flying at Ron, etc.)
-Hermoine's fake laugh
-The shortness of "Snape's Worst Memory" (BTW: knowing what we now know about Snape, it's really kind of hard to believe that being hung upside-down and humiliated is the worst thing that's ever happened to him.)
-Cho ratting out the DA instead of...whasserface. (and no SNEAK on her forehead?!)

Overall, it was really good. Particularly with how huge the book is, they did a really nice job of adapting it. I mean...Ron got actual lines. (A few, anyway...)

In a totally arbitrary, made-up-on-the-spot star rating system, I give OotP 8 1/2 out of 11.
