From the past few weeks I suppose I'll just give some major points with a few minor random ones that won't impact you whatsoever.
- Went to a couple of hardcore local shows. I had absolutely no idea fort wayne had a scene again, let alone a good one. At the first, the local bands were Kingston Falls, Best Left Lying, Saints Never Surrender, and In The Face Of War. And I think another, but I don't remember them I suppose. But
Haste The Day was also there, which was very cool. They originate from Indy I guess, and I've never heard of them, but a lot of the kids at the show certainly did and that was awesome. I never really thought of people singing (screaming) along with grindcore, but the scene kids impressed me. All of the bands I mentioned can be found on
PureVolume (The Jeanies can be found there as well), so if you're into hardcore at all, check out our town's shitty bands, especially Saints and BLL, even though we all hate the bassist of BLL. A lot. As a group.
- Been hanging out with Katie more. We have traditions. Friday nights : Go out to eat (usually for mexican), go 'shopping,' go to the mall, go to the station. The station is a random BP gas station out in Leo (borderline Butler) where they have huge slushies for 69 cents and those like two foot long whips of laffy taffy and a clean bathroom and candy cigarettes. It's great. Last night Ealey and I went and got like seven things of laffy, four things of candy cigarettes, a king size skittles, a slushie, and some oompas for like five bucks. YES
- Got a new screen name. Okay, granted, it was like two days ago, but it's feminizzlex so add me and love me.
- Finally ditched the Figment project altogether.
- Got new classes: US History (with Ealey), Photography (with Holly), Chemistry (with Lyndsie), and Math (with just myself and a cute girl named Erica).
- Put up shelves in my room. Doesn't affect you at all whatsoever.
- Made my first trip to Hooters. Katie and I felt like pervs. We had to find something to look at that wasn't boobs or asses, so we decided to look at a picture of a Hooters girl on a little ad on our table.
- Started a ska band. Yeah. I know. I really am awesome. It's called GO, FETUS, GO!
Vocals - Annie (& maybe Katie)
Guitar & Mandolin! - Gray Gordon (Street punk)
Bass - Thaddeus (Thaddeodeus) James Art Jr.
Drums - Ethan or Ealey.. I dunno, they're both in other bands, so it's a toss-up.
Trumpet - Pauly Ensley
Trombone - Well it was Jon Shabb, but now that I'm thinking about it, he is going to be way better than the rest of us, so I may just find some freshman boner to do it.
Basically that's all I can think of, although I'm sure there's more.
So then, last weekend.
Friday night I went out with Katie. We went to Hooters and then to the United Art Supplies store or whatever. Then to the mall. Then she told me she didn't want to stay the night at my house but go to a party instead. So I dropped her off and went to a birthday party at Dan's house. That was totally fun.
Saturday I got my hair cut really short and I didn't mean to and I don't like it, and then I went to a show Fat Micah was supposedly going to, but he wasn't there. I took Holly because she thinks (regular) Micah is hot, but I guess he didn't like her much. On the way my truck slid into a ditch and almost turned over on its side, and we were going to walk back to my house but these really nice people stopped and pulled us out with their SUV. So we got there a half hour late and missed BLL. We got there in time to see saints, which was cool, and then some random touring band called Sea Turns Red or something, and they were ridiculous and awful. We saw Thaddeus there, but he forgot my name. Holly and I left before the last band. I dropped her off and went home, and Thaddeus called me and we talked for awhile, and I made him some
jewelry.Sunday I had my pre-ISSMA recital. I guess I did pretty well. I got a lot of praise from the kids there and from Joe. I think I did something after that but I don't remember.
Most nights now I have musical until 4 or 5, until the end of this week probably, because I'm student directing the musical portion. The folks are doing pretty good. Of course the kids who have been in it the longest are the ones who are getting cocky and making dumb mistakes, and they're the ones who won't come to me for help. I'm going to soon talk to Ms Butler and ask her to request they should.
I wish that when I got angry, I can turn into the incredible hulk, but like in female form. Hulkette? Ms. Hulk? Haha, remember Hulk Hogan?
Err anyway.
I guess Ben Folds Five is coming in February to like Wabash. Thaddeus asked me to go with him and his friends when the time comes around. I'm concerned I won't fit in with them, but then again when am I not concerned of that same thing? And I bet if I bring my video camera, things will go well anyway. Which reminds me, I need to go listen to some Ben Folds. Haha.
I need a Morp date. Any takers?
All in all, things are good.
I started making things with construction paper again. Let's call it the
picture of zen for today.
