Dear Mum and Dad,
Thank you very much for you ‘wake up’ gift. I will have time to read it now, because Professor Dumbledore cancelled all the school exams. Everyone is excited about that, except me. How I am supposed to know what to study over the Summer holidays if I don’t know how I did in school? I might not even have Charms marks to get into Arithmancy, and I was so looking forward that class, too.
I woke up on Monday, but was quite dazed for a while. I still feel a bit strange, sometimes like I’ve slept for ages and am well rested, and then just like I’ve fallen asleep in the afternoon and woken up all hot and sticky. Things happened while I was ‘asleep’ as well. I can’t write about it all here, because it’s late, and everyone is celebrating. Everyone is well and it worked out okay in the end.
I look forward to seeing you again and being home for the holidays. It was lovely reading your letters while Madam Pomfrey kept us in the hospital. Professor Sprout wrote to Justin on his behalf. He seemed a bit, well, disappointed that his parents didn’t notice. But I said that you would have appreciated McGonagall’s explanation. I hope you weren’t too freaked out.
Please don’t be too worried. Everything was pretty much the result of a plan You-Know-Who made years ago. No one died and Harry (because the hero, so it’ll always be him) got to destroy the spell and rescue the girl. Poor Ginny, she’s never going to get over him now.
I have to stop writing before I fall asleep.
See you both soon.
With lots of love,
