Getting an Initiative outpost back up and running from scratch is proving to be more difficult than I'd thought it would be.
This will not be a scientific research station. No experimenting on the creatures of darkness on my watch. The world does NOT need another Adam. The primary funtion of this outpost will be simple: Protect those who need protection from the things they aren't prepared to understand. Period.
To that end, constrution crews have been put to work renovating site A, the Sunnydale military base. I've been issued an office, and a corresponding mountain of paperwork.
No secretary. I don't want to start thinking like a suit instead of a soldier.
I've been forwarded all the paperwork from the local recruitment stations in the tri-county area, the better to red-flag likely candidates.
Had one meeting already. It was with a
Kennedy Fitzgerald, representing a Los Angeles law firm. From her eye for the ordinance, I'm guessing she's not your garden-variety paralegal.
Good looking girl, though. I don't think I flirted. I'm trying to keep things professional. Although I did invite her to come back Monday and try out the base's shooting range, if she's free.
Ok...I really need to get back to work. It'd be nice to not have to sleep on a cot i nthis building soon.
