So, we started moving into the new place. We've still got the entire kitchen left to pack and move over, and all the boxes pretty much to unpack, but all the big stuff's in-place, and we've been living here (relatively) without incident.
I say that only because after the aforementioned Billy Joel concert, both my wife and I had lower back pains. Only, hers felt better when mine felt worse.
To keep a long story short, I was fighting an uphill battle with a slipped disc in the lumbar region of my lower back. I'm on the path to recovery at the moment, which is how I even found time to make this post today.
As
demonvirtue,
happychainsaw83,
raped_by_luck, and
stahlschmidt remember ... that time we all wrestled on the trampoline, and Deanna had my legs up over my head when William bodyslammed into me? It felt like that.
I get to see the doctor again on Friday. Meanwhile, Gail has already applied the first coat of primer to the hideously blue laundry room. Unfortunately, I can't go back and get a picture of how god-awfully electric blue the thing was, nor can I show you what it looked like under the fluorescent fixture, but I can show you the end result once we're/she's done painting in there. The rest of the house is still as-is.
On a much happier, lighter note (other than "I have pain pills!"), I aced both my finals, graduating UCO with a 2.92 overall, and a 3.7 within my major. Next stop is graduate school, for which I am already enrolled in two classes.
Hopefully, I'll be going back to work tomorrow. Cheers!
