phaw, disappearing from my blog for a year is really no joke. This either meant i had nothing in my life interesting to write about, or that i'm just plain lazy. I'm glad to report to y'all, that i was just plain lazy! I had plenty of interesting stuff happening in 2009!!!
Travel
I went to the following places.
New Zealand in Feb: 1st time invitation to the annual sales conference and of all places, one of my dream destinations, New Zealand!!! OF COURSE I'LL EXTEND!!! Hubbby was super glad that i got to go, so that was half his expenses covered. wahahaha.... Enjoyed all the sights and extremely enjoyed my bungee jump! It was a pity we didn't manage to do the skydive though. Anyway, if you have access into FB, you should be able to see the pix I posted and my bungee video. Food was also good, and we actually bumped into Hubby's cousin in Auckland. Cool....
Bangkok in Sep: My fave shopping place. Re-visited the land of smiles with my colleagues from 2008 trip and a new addition. We opened her eyes to the wonders of Bangkok. hehehehe.... Anyway, short trip. Food was good as usual. Everyone went crazy shopping as usual. Even our bosses who happened to be there also went crazy shopping. To the extent that they could claim VAT back... *shake head*
Kuala Lumpur in Dec: Also a short trip. Supposed to attend colleague's wedding, so extended invite to anyone interested to accompany me. Xueting and Meiyan went along and Pavilion KL opened their eyes. =p I seriously didn't buy anything this year. All the shopping were done by all the pple around me. Anyway, same thing, food was extremely good too. Wedding was fantastic. Even the coach we went on was also gooood....
Weddings
My sister had her solemnization ceremony in November at Pasir Ris. I drove my mum and bro there without getting lost! Amazing.... Let's see if I can repeat my performance for her Swissotel wedding this Sat. hahahaha..... OF COURSE I CAN! City no issue, but places like seng kang and pasir ris got major issue.... Oops, sidetracked. Her solemnization was organized well. JP spoke well, not like a hokkien beng. Groom didn't run away to my surprise. =p All was good.
Next amazing solemnization happened in Oct. I should say that this is THE SOLEMNIZATION CEREMONY of 2009. Bride stayed put, didn't run, Groom didn't need to shackle bride into the room, Bride didn't yell for her lost freedom, u get the idea. My dear yun actually got herself to sign on the dotted line in 2009!!! I did buy 4D on the date, but didn't open. hehehe.... Am extremely happy for her and am glad she found her future with Bob.
2009 was also eventful in office. My ex-purchaser left for another entity, 1 woman (me) suddenly have to wear 2 caps. 1st time hearing terms like voluntary retirement, retrenchment exercise and actually experiencing it. My close buddies in office were unfortunately or rather fortunately axed from office. Fortunately cos they received a nice package from office and managed to do things they liked! New supply chain manager hired for ex-purchaser's role. So far so good, and she's a very nice lady too. H1N1 leading to me being ultra busy for months. I'm still showing whoever interested, my call diary before H1N1 and after H1N1. My 1st audited stocktake which went extremely bad. To the extent that my internal auditor's boss will be coming the next time round. wahahaha.... There are always good and bad events in office, just that i feel last year was marked by more good than bad. Surprising? Weird? It's supposed to be a RECESSION! Yeah, it's weird. I'm still trying to reconcile that. hahaha...
December was my most memorable month. My 1st step into our new home. It feels weird after waiting for 4+ years for the key, seeing the construction daily on the way to work, to actually step into my home. Very surreal. Then it struck me once I checked my CPF account and saw my $1.59 account balance. I actually own a home and I have keys to the place at long last!!! It's very hard to describe how I feel at the moment, but it feels damn good. =D So it's obvious that 2010 will be filled with reno/electrical appliance shopping/furnishing stuff. Our $$$ may be going out very fast for the next few mths, but all that will be worth it once we move in tentatively in May! I'm just glad to have that 4 years for saving.
Looking forward to a good 2010!
