Last night, my fiancee and I were lucky enough to attend the book signing that Alton at the Barnes and Noble at Union Square in Manhattan. We arrived quite early, but because of this, we were able to snag second row seats, and got the pictures I'll post.
He spoke for an hour, mainly about his new book, but also about all the shows he's done, his travels and experiences, and took a lot of audience questions. Before the presentation, one of the store employees had told us that he wouldn't purposely pose for pictures, but you could take some during the presentation, which we did.
I thought that the signing itself would be an assembly line deal, but much to my suprise, he took his time. We were all allowed to walk up on stage and give him the books ourselve, and he took the time to chat with us for at least 3 or 4 minutes. He was warm, gracious, and well, I have to say it, adorable. He's the genuine article, people, and if you get a chance to see him, don't miss it!
And now, the pictures:
That last pic is my sweetie and I having the books signed and chatting. What a great night we had!
