The faint light of the morning was the first thing to wake Kyungsoo up inside of his bedroom. With heavy eyes, Kyungsoo gazed around carefully while being half asleep. It took mere moments for him to realize that he was sleeping alone in his bed, tucked under the sheets with care. Everything was blurry and strange, Kyungsoo's mind aching as he tried to remember what happened the night before. The last thing he could remember was Jongin sleeping with him on the couch, those arms wrapped around him after they accidentally fooled around. As he gazes around in a daze he realized that Jongin wasn't in the room at all. He was sleeping alone in his room, alone without a single person nearby. Forcing his body to move, Kyungsoo crawled off his bed with a nasty headache as he walked slowly to see if he could find Jongin. The bathroom, nope. The kitchen, nope. Closet, nope. Maybe he was still in the living room, but it wasn't surprising that there wasn't anyone fast asleep on the couch. Kyungsoo was alone and Jongin was not anywhere else in the house.

With his body more awake and mind functioning correctly, Kyungsoo finds his breathe suddenly increase and heart rate beings to increase. “No, No...” Kyungsoo whimpers, his eyes looking around his empty apartment. It was just what he feared, Jongin had simply played around with him and left. There wasn't anything special about last night, it was just something fun for Jongin but didn't mean anything. Kyungsoo had been played, not only with his body but his heart as well. Scrunching his eyebrows, Kyungsoo felt like an idiot. After such a long time of being afraid and hating Jongin, he thought that they were starting to progress. Jongin had become a friend for him, and no matter how much he denied it Kyungsoo knew that he was feeling more than friendship for Jongin. He liked him, and it was stupid.

As he stood there, his head pounding and his heart aching, Kyungsoo found himself thinking back on the nightmares that he had whenever he first was paired with Jongin. The dreams of being pregnant and used as an object. Was that foreshadowing for what will happen between himself and Jongin. The thought was sickening and as Kyungsoo rushed to the restroom before throwing up his worries, he knew that it was possible. That he continued to let Jongin in, that Jongin would just would play with him until he got bored with then he would return to his lifestyle of the rich and famous. After all, he could be back at his apartment with another person in his arms right now.

Leaning over the commode, Kyungsoo feels like he's going to throw up at any moment. Breathing slowly, it's relief that he no longer feels nauseous. Getting up and wiping his mouth and hands, his emotions go on overdrive as he goes from worry to frustration to straight out anger. Walking slowly into his room, his eyes widen as he notices a note on the dresser next to a glass of water and painkiller. Oh, so he could leave a note and not tell Kyungsoo in person. Just like those over night flings, a note and nothing else. Scoffing at the whole display, Kyungsoo doesn't even read the letter but scrunches it into a ball and throws it on the floor, taking the medication out of habit. Gulping down the water, he collapse on his bed as he punches his mattress and tosses his pillows around in frustration.

It lasted for what felt like an eternity until Kyungsoo was out of breath and exhausted, but he felt much better than he did earlier. His own mind worked in over drive, and honestly Kyungsoo didn't know what to do. He just sits on his bed staring at the crumpled note on the floor until the sound of his alarm goes off letting him know that it was time for work. As mundane and repetitive as it was, Kyungsoo found work to be the one thing that he needed. It was something normal and at the very least it would get his mind off Jongin. In fact, it would be better to just go ahead and meet up with Baekhyun, since he really didn't want to be alone. This wasn't something that he really wanted to talk with, since Baekhyun did have a big mouth. But, it would calm his mind down to hear all the random chatter from Baekhyun and his donor.

Changing into his uniform in record speed, Kyungsoo grabbed a light jacket as he activated his Automated Intelligence system and heard the mechanical voice ask what he needed. “Please send a message to Byun Baekhyun's home system, message start: 'I'm heading over now, don't leave without me. Kyungsoo' Message end. Please send with an urgent notice.”

With a nod of his head, Kyungsoo wasted no time locking up his apartment as he grabbed his apron and headed down the elevator. Standing out in the dusky air, Kyungsoo felt the desire to simply walk over to Baekhyun's house since he had enough time. It was only a twenty minute walk and the fresh air would help calm down his mood. It did just the trick as he finally arrived and rungs the doorbell.

Baekhyun opens the door almost too quickly, and Kyungsoo watched in amusement as he covered his eyes with his hand. “Ow, why is it so bright? Oh god, I think that I moved too fast. I mean, ugh, come on in, I am just finishing breakfast.”

Kyungsoo smiled at his friend's obvious hangover (which seemed much worse than his own, which was a good thing in his mind) and quickly walked inside, closing the door after hearing a wincing noise.

There was Chanyeol at the table, resting his head on his arms as he trembles and wails and cries. Baekhyun seemed to be indifferent to the display, as he headed into the kitchen and left Kyungsoo standing awkwardly staring. The closer Kyungsoo moved towards Chanyeol the louder he cried. Kyungsoo really didn't understand what had happened.

“Chanyeol! Keep it down, I'm cooking here!” Baekhyun screamed from the kitchen.

“I am so dumb, he was here in my house and it slipped my mind. I am so stupid!” Chanyeol whined as Kyungsoo just stares at him wide eyed and confused.

Baekhyun walked in with food for the three of them as Chanyeol began to complain again. “How can this be, someone as stupid as me doesn't deserve food from someone so beautiful. I don't deserve food from those holy hands!”

Baekhyun simply rolls his eyes and turns to Kyungsoo, “Just ignore him, now get over here and join us for breakfast. Chanyeol is just having a huge fit right now, you see Chanyeol forgot to ask Jongin to get the group's autographs on his Terrane cd collection and is acting like it's the end of the world.”

“Because it is!” Chanyeol made an louder and painful whine.

“Chanyeol! Stop it now. You need to stop whining and eat the food I prepared, or simply stop whining and save what you aren't going to eat for later. Wasting food is bad.” Baekhyun spoke firmly, causing Kyungsoo to feel even more uncomfortable as the faint whimper every once in a while came from beside him.

Once they are finished eating, the three of them clean up the kitchen quickly as Baekhyun changed into his work uniform and returned back to Kyungsoo's side. With a smile, Baekhyun ruffled Chanyeol's hair as he said goodbye.

The walk through the streets was rather nice for Kyungsoo as the soft sound of chatter coming from Baekhyun the entire way there. Baekhyun was being as entertaining as always, until something surprising happened. “Kyungsoo, you know that I actually thought about quitting earlier. When I was drunk, of course.”

As Kyungsoo gazed shocked to only see a still kind of disgusted look on Baekhyun's face, “I'm not sure about working for Steriles, since my family would be furious if they found out and god knows what my mother would do. But, I can't help but consider Tao a good friend and Kris is good eye candy." He wouldn't miss that eye candy for anything.

“I'm glad to hear that, and I'm sure that Tao and Kris would agree with me.” Kyungsoo explained, although he knew that even if Baekhyun had told him that his decision was different, Kyungsoo would not have left the job. He would be sad if Baekhyun didn't work with him any longer, but it wouldn't make him quit since there was other people he was friends with and he needed a job unlike Baekhyun. He didn't have money to waste, he couldn't work for fun, he needed the job to pay bills. Simply.

The pair continued talking for a little while longer until they arrive at the cafe. As they arrived at the front door of the establishment, Kyungsoo found himself wondering if everything would suddenly be different inside. That the cafe wouldn’t be the same light-hearted place as always. Kyungsoo couldn't help but think in the back of his mind on how things would be different with Jongin too. That things with Jongin won't be so relaxed and that in two days whenever he had his doctor appointment it would go from bad to worse. That similar nauseous feeling came back as he entered the establishment.

Against the odds everything was the same. It's surprising that Kris was busy working as normal, acting like nothing had happened. Kyungsoo could even see that Tao was busy washing dishes and getting everything ready for the day. It was the exact same as every other day. Everything was too normal and too strange. As Kyungsoo and Baekhyun were greeted and their daily tasks issues to them, Kyungsoo listened quietly before heading over to do the first thing on his list. He needed to start up the coffee drips. Kyungsoo watched in shock that everyone was acting normal, even Victoria who already had a seat with one of her sons next to her. Baekhyun headed over to take her order with a smile on his face as they talk and the normality continued.

The time passed by quickly and the day progressed slower than normal. There weren't as many customers as normal, so Kyungsoo decided to take a short break and just relax for a moment. Staying in the back, near the break room, he was soon joined when Tao came over for a short break. Standing there awkwardly next to each other, Kyungsoo broke the ice as he spoke softly. “Is everything okay?”

With a simple nod of the head,Tao replied. “Everything’s fine, we weren't expecting to let anyone know. But, things went better than I ever thought. It'll be easier this way, now I don't have to dodge your questions anymore.”

“I'm glad that you feel better but still... I'm sorry about the Baekhyun talked, it was a bit harsh.”

Tao didn't waste a moment in replying, “It's just normal for Baekhyun to think like that, after all I know that I thought the same way before I learned that I was sterile. Everyone else is normal and people just don't like steriles. I was just as shocked whenever I found my silver letter stated that I was sterile. My family was ashamed of it, and I learned that really fast with my first doctor appointment how much we were disliked. It wasn't anything as fancy as what you and Baekhyun went through, mine simply a physical of sorts, but everyone treated us differently. The people around me, the nurses and even doctors treated us differently than others. They examined us to make sure that impregnation was a hundred impossible, even though they already knew the answers, and whenever the test results were given they treated us even worse. I know it doesn't make sense, but ever since my silver letter I've been treated like a waste of space. Like I shouldn't be alive.”

A worried expression covered Kyungsoo's features as he thought to himself. He really wished that he could understand how Tao must have felt, but honestly he can't. He knew that ever since his first moment of meeting with Doctor Boa, the friendly little receptionist and nurse, that things were different. Kyungsoo had been constantly admired and praised because of his natural uterus. While he still didn't like having it, he knew that it was a good thing for his future. His children could be born easier and the government would be pleased. So, with that said Kyungsoo could never would feel what Tao was feeling. It was impossible, but it didn't stop him for wanting to be his friend and be there for him.

“I know that it's hard, and I can't understand what you're going through, but you're not wasting space. Without you and Kris, the world would never know the amazing coffee and people that you guys are.”

A rare smile flashed across Tao's face although it was gone just as fast. Tao and Kyungsoo found themselves chat a little more, mainly about the different types of coffee in the cafe, until a loud voice yelled from across the store. “Tao! Kyungsoo! Stop playing around and get back to work. I'm not paying for you to sit and gossip.” Nearly snickering at the comment, Tao nods to Kyungsoo as they hurried back to work. The rest of the time went by quickly and before they know it work was over and the days came to a close.

Leaving his apron to be washed, Kyungsoo walked out of the cafe with Baekhyun chatting with him. Just as the two of them were about to start walking to the nearest bus stop, a small honk caught their attention as Chanyeol hurried out of the parked car. “Guess I've got a ride home, sorry Kyungsoo.” Kyungsoo simply smiled as he shook his head, not minding that he would be going home alone. Saying a brief goodbye, Kyungsoo watched in amusement as Chanyeol tried to hold Baekhyun hand as they walk away only to receive a slap on the arm by Baekhyun. Those two were confusing, that was the only way that Kyungsoo could put it.

Taking the bus home, Kyungsoo hurried to the back of the bus as he put on his headphones and stared out the window thinking about everything that had happened in the short day. Things had been crazy and confusing, but he didn't feel anywhere as worried or panicked as he thought. Even now, he didn't feel like he would break at any moment. Instead, he gazed at his phone with a pout. There were no messages, which wasn't normal. Normally Jongin would be obnoxious and message him all of the time but now there was nothing. Trying to think reasonably, Kyungsoo tried to ignore it as he shoved his phone back into his pocket and counted the tree's the remainder of the ride home.

As he arrived home and hurried inside, Kyungsoo headed to his room and quickly collapsed on his bed. His feet were killing him after the long hours on them and he couldn't lie that his bed felt like the best thing in the world. As he lied there on his bed, his eyes glanced over to the note wrinkled on the floor. Reaching down to pick it up, he unfolded the ball and forced himself to read it.

Hey Kyungsoo, yeah.. Good morning. I mean, I'm sorry, look... my manager called me at five saying I had ten minutes to get to the studio for the interview I postponed yesterday or I would be grounded from driving for the next month. I didn't want to leave, you were so damn adorable lying there, but I had to. I saw that you only had to ibuprofen in your Cabinet, so I left them for you to take. Drink all the water, you'll need it. I'll get some when I get to work, haha. I'll be busy for the next day but I hope you have a good day and think of me all the time! I know I'll be thinking of you! ;) I'm kidding. Well, laters. - Kai

Reading the note a few times over and over, Kyungsoo decided that he was an idiot. Jongin wrote him a nice note, took care of him, and what did he do? Get angry and have a tantrum? Of course he would overreact about everything. While the events that happened last night were still confusing to Kyungsoo, he knew that he needed to talk to Jongin to get it all straightened out. Grabbing his phone, he fidgeted with it for nearly twenty minutes until he sent a simple message asking Jongin if he wanted to get breakfast before their appointment. Just to talk, nothing else. Definitely not like a date.
