It's probably cheaper to rent a chainsaw. I think Home Depot does tool rental (you need to leave a large deposit though), because, how often are you going to actually use the thing? Maybe a neighbor has one?

What are you putting in your burger mixture? that might have something to do with it.

plus points for you! thanks! we'll call around to confirm that the price April guessed at ($25/day) is about right.

If rentals cost $25/day, we'll probably buy one. We have a LOT of trees that periodically need heavy cutting. I'm not sure I could do the job we have in only one day - and we're going to have to do this again next year, and the year after that...

I say buy one. A chainsaw is a good thing to have around when the zombies attack.

I can't help you with the burger thing.. I seem to suffer from the same affliction.

Don't make 'em flat, make 'em concave in the middle.

1) If the trees are not sequoia-sized, I would buy a small to medium sized electric chainsaw. Obviously, an electric one isn't as good as a gas one when the zombies attack, as critical infrastructure (electricity) is most likely sketchy, at best, but it is a useful tool to have, nonetheless. Besides, with a smaller chainsaw, you can take up ice-sculpture ( ... )
