Nobody reads this, but this story is too funny not to tell.
So around 8 pm my throat swells up like a balloon. I'm in the middle of studying for an exam mind you. So all studying goes out the window. Around midnight I try to sleep, and I fall asleep about 1 but I only sleep till 2. I wake up and feel like dying. So I call my mom and she tells me to go to the emergency room. So I do it. First of all, it takes 3 people to admit me. They attempt to take my blood pressure on the lower part of my arm. This takes 3 tries. The nurse hands me a tv remite and leaves. I watch degrassi for about 10 minutes, and then a doctor comes in, inspects me for 5 minutes, and sends my culture to the lab. I then sit for an hour and watch Degrassi. He comes back and tells me I don't have strep, and tells me he can treat the symtoms and asks if I'm allergic to anything. Not only do I have a bright red allergy bracelet that says "ibuprofen" on it, I tell him also for good measure. 15 minutes later, a nurse comes in and gives me a paper about my "viral pharyngitis". On the paper it says "Allergies: none." He then tells me I can take ibuprofen with my pain killer. I come home, look it up, and see that they gave me vicodin.
Keep it classy Grady Memorial Hospital.
