Who: Giovanni Auditore |[
betrayedblade]| and Lorenzo de'Medici |[
ilmagnifico]|
What: Giovanni goes to visit the younger Medici in the middle of the night. Get your head out of the gutter, you. Yes, you.
Warnings: Ridiculous kidnappings, probable sappiness, and generally just lots of...ridiculousness.
The hallways were dark in the night and none of the braziers or candles were lit at this time because it was so late. It was the time of sleep, or of wandering spirits. One such ghost flitted from shadow to shadow, all in white and faceless beneath a hiding hood, as it wandered the hallways unperturbed. Getting in hadn't been a problem; he had long since known the secret passages and hidden ways to slip in without notice. It was his job. And this was his old haunting ground.
The only thing he hadn't expected was the pleasant surprise that met him in the hallway leading to his destination. He should have known the target wouldn't be sleeping easily so soon after his brush with death and old ghosts.
The single tiny candle flame hardly dented the darkness the white shadow lived in. He darted quickly from one to the other and knew he was not expected. Standing out here in the hallway like this, wandering down the passageways in search for redemption from the dreams unbidden would be the Medici's mischance. He wouldn't be able to get out of this unexpected visit.
The white ghost took the last few steps slowly, eerily quiet beyond the natural scope of such things. He came up close to the Medici, breathed once down his neck before rapidly snaking a hand around the man's mouth and muffling any would-be shouts. His other arm wrapped around the man's chest and pinned his arms to his sides. Without a word, the ghost began to drag the Medici off to a safe place to hold their uncanny meeting. Somewhere where their would be no disturbances.
"Shhh," he whispered into the young ruler's ear. "Quiet now."
The ghost dragged the Medici away from any possible ears to be alerted to the happening, or any unusually awake eyes to see his form; it would not do to be found out. He stopped abruptly when he'd drug the man into a dark, dark recess and held him in place until he stopped struggling against being held gently to his captor's chest. Only then did he release him and wait for him to turn around.
"Don't be upset," he pleaded to his young master.
