Aside from that, there's something that puzzles me. The organization NERV have been receiving criticism and their job is, or it seems, to fend off these so-called Angels.

From what I picked up, I thought they were some kind of alien race that had been attacking us. "Angels" is probably just an overly dramatic code name someone came up with to refer to them other than "Extraterrestrial Super-powered Biomorph" or whatever the scientists want to call them.

Well they're obviously not classic, bible-y angels, those one are all peace on earth and bird wings. The last one that showed up was some sort of sea serpent, I believe. The only other thing I can think of is that they're aliens. We're already under attack by...what, two alien races? I'm sure I'm missing one. So what's one more?
