Now that the nightmare of Sephiroth's retaliation is over with, there are a few things Zax has been meaning to do... And coincidentally enough, all of them involve going to see his flower girl.

This is why he's heading down through Sector 5 yet again, making his way to the old church with Merodi in tow.

*Aerith is sitting on one of the pews in a weary daze when Zax enters, and only registers his presence as he draws closer. She blinks at him and smiles blearily.*

Hey, Zax. Hello, Merodi.

Hey, sweetheart. *he smiles warmly*

... hey, you look pretty tired. *sits next to her on the pew and wraps his free arm around her shoulders, still holding onto Merodi with his other hand* You okay? Is this a bad time?

*leans into his embrace* I'm fine, it's just been a long week. *Her eyelashes flutter and she smiles, letting herself snuggle and be held for just a moment.*

*murmurs* My healing spell's ready whenever you are.

Mm, I know that feeling. I sort of just want to hide in my room this weekend and sleep for two days.

*tilts her head towards him and drops a soft, lingering kiss on her lips* Thanks, Aerith. I really appreciate it. You think it'll work?

*glances down* I honestly don't know. I've never tried to heal anyone with Mako poisoning... *She stands, smoothing her dress.* Well. It can't hurt.

*She places her hands on Merodi's shoulders, closes her eyes, and concentrates....*

*almost as if on cue, Zax may or may not notice a Jenovite signature approaching the church; several moments later, the front door opens just enough to let Yazoo slip in quietly before he strides to the front pew, on the left side, skirting the flowers easily and rummaging underneath the pew for something*

*Zax hasn't been isolated enough from other Jenovites lately to really notice, his senses just aren't sufficiently honed yet. He does hear the door open, though, and turns to look.*

[surprise/startlement/curiosity] Yazoo? What're you doing here?

*looks vaguely amused* ...The lady was kind enough to loan us some space for us to use while we're working out a few... minor details. *finds a pencil and some paper and begins sketching furiously* Nothing more.

Ah, I see. *nods* That coming along all right, then...?

*thinks about this* ...To some extent. ...She has moved from her former hiding place; I think I may know where her new one is, but it requires some calculation... *snags a well-worn map of Midgar and its surroundings and scribbles some calculations on it* ...Although, if it is where I think she is... There is a certain irony in her choice of locale.

... where do you think she is?

...There are, or were, a series of hidden laboratories outside of Midgar, one of which we utilized... well, in what you might call the start of the whole messy affair. *evasive? Never.*

If that is indeed her choice of hideaways, it is clearly for the irony value inherent in this.

*Yazoo's oblique reference is not lost on Zax, and he has to take a moment to suppress a wave of protective outrage and hope to gods it doesn't leak. Yazoo is an ally, at least for now... and he did try to be delicate about it. Forcing himself to calm, Zax sighs and nods.*

Yeah, sounds like it. Irony, indeed...

*There's a bit of a leak, but Yazoo's ignoring it; after all, he was much the same where Kadaj had been concerned, if not worse. The realization at how much they're alike is not one he wants to entertain at the moment*

...At any rate, once Loz and our ...illustrious elder sister return with news, then we can yet determine for sure her location and how to proceed with... what allies we are sure we can count on.

Elder sis... oh, jeez, that lady Sephiroth? She's helping too? *low, impressed whistle* Well, that's better odds on our side, no doubt about that.

... hey, Yazoo. This is just a thought, and I really don't know if we can count on it so we'd probably better not get too attached to the idea, but... Do you think we'd have a better chance if we could cure the people with Geostigma?

*nods* I do not know why she chose to offer her aid, but it is... not unwelcome. She spoke of someone else who may be interested, as well...

*considers for several moments* ...Were there such a thing as a cure, it would rather dramatically improve our odds, I do believe. ...After all, it is just one more way for her to puppet...
