I simply MUST describe how lovely this weekend was.
After days of stressing out about whether or not the Clothing Exchange Party would go off without a hitch - as in, would enough people show up - it went well. Pretty darn well, if I do say so myself. I got two dresses, two blouses, a purse, and a t-shirt for $5, and all the other participants threw in $5 a person to cover the cost of the facility. The only downside is that the only people from the lj comm to show up was Erin, who has since added me on Facebook. Everyone else was a friend. My mom came (out of pity), but even she found a dress (for my sister's wedding)!
After that, Aly and I took our haul (and our butts) to the John B Pub, where we were serenaded by overly loud, overly nostalgic 90's pop, had lovely food, and tried various free beer samples. Then we went back to my place, and devoured some stove-top popcorn along with Calvin. (He also devoured popcorn. We did not devour him - although he had been groping me under tables all day, and I certainly wanted to.)
After it got late and dark, I dropped Aly off at the skytrain station, and Calvin and I made out like crazy. Unfortunately, I was too exhausted and too sore from hauling clothes around all day, so instead of sex we fell asleep snuggling in the wee hours of the morning. After a few hours of sleep, we woke each other up with ravenous sex (post mouthwash, ofcourse), had a snack, and went back to cuddly sleep. A few hours later we woke up, picked up some groceries, and returned home to cuddle on the couch while watching old movies, and then went BACK to bed several hours early, for several more hours of sex.
Thanks to the arthritis, I probably WILL be walking funny for a week, but it was so bloody worth it.
I can't wait to marry that man.
