Because I haven't rambled on fun fannish things for a while
Went to see Pirates 3 last weekend. Was a bit wary because of all the reviews saying it was overly long and complicated, but I enjoyed it. JD was as excellent as ever, and multiple JDs was made of win, the other JD (Norrington) was pretty cool, Bill Nighy and Geoffrey Rush rocked and I didn't find Orlando Bloom quite as intolerable as usual. Getting mixed opinions on whether Kiera Knightley is still too thin, I didn't really notice but two people said yay and one said nay. I've seen pics from Atonement and I'm saying she's skeletal. Further to the multiple JDs, I want Jack/Jack fic. And Jack/goat fic. Come on fandom, don't let me down.
Watched Bright Young Things earlier this week, and only remembered (apart from Stephen Fry as director) why I'd put it on my rental list when I saw the opening credits. Quite enjoyed it, but have to say that although I do like facial hair on most men, David Tennant really needs to never ever have a tache again.
Am following updates on Long Way Down, and am feeling pleased and apprehensive now the boys have made it to Africa. They're travelling through a number of potential trouble spots, and I know they could have problems anywhere but I'm still going to fret a bit.
Apparently Jonathan Ross and his entire family are now Warcrack addicts. Is that everyone now? Am sort of glad I deliberately bought a non-gaming-capable laptop for that moment when I ended up close to shrugging my shoulders and joining them.
Edit: This is mostly about Second Life, but do the Warcrack addicts on my f-list have any comments on this?
Can't believe I missed the first ep of series 3 of Grey's. Ep 2 had me in stitches though, I'm glad it's back. Am also looking forward to DW tonight. The BBC still haven't stopped spoilering people, and other people still aren't learning to cut spoilers, which annoys me slightly. I sense they're doing it on purpose, but I'd just rather watch and be surprised. There's sod all else on telly atm. Probably a good thing given how busy things are for me. I'm getting nowhere with fanfic writing lately, but hopefully I'll get back to all my WIPs some time soon. I'm also gradually moving a lot of my adult-rated stuff onto GJ, and will link from LJ in future. I've also updated the userinfo to clarify the fact that neither I nor Charlie is in favour of child poverty, whatever LJ say. Was slightly tempted to write for the new pornish_pixies challenge, but will probably just procrastinate and study instead.
