In honor of my birthday, padparadscha called me all the way from Kenya! She seems to have had a great time (I hope I wasn't just imagining that) and told me many awesome things like how Dr. Who is apparantly really popular there and how the maleria she got at one point was like a Victorian Heroine Illness.* It came at just the right time, too. I'd been angsting all morning about how my sister had been too busy to buy my present and how my mom would be too tired to go out to dinner with me anyway and why even bother, so this has improved my day no end.
Also, I'm being featured in an amusing The Sims sendup of my favorite message board, went skating with various friends last night, finished two books I've been meaning to finish for a long time (Dracula and the second A Song of Ice and Fire book,) and got an amusing homestarrunner.com-related card from Chris. So life is really looking up right now.
*Meaning you don't have an excess of gross bodily fluids or other ungainly symptoms, you just kind of lie around lethargically and don't do anything.
