I got home from my shift at the polls a little bit ago. I was invited to six different parties and turned down all of them so I could get a good night's rest. I ended up having a quick dinner with my friend Anthony, who also worked at his own polling place, and that seemed to assuage my rabid need for socialization. I'll try to write something more tomorrow about what it was like working there. For now, I'm just really happy about how it turned out. After 2000 and, worse, 2004, I'd buried my hope under such a hard shell of cynicism I didn't even realize it was there, and when I heard about PA and OH, it cracked open.
