And Von is indeed the King O' Syndicating! Glad he could help out. (I'm off to add your blog to our friends now...if he didn't already, which he probably did...). :)

Yay, adding!1 I've added vonallan.com to my friends over on c57.
Speaking of the King O'Syndicating, though, Surly's wondering what sort of bribes and offerings are appropriate to make to get his blog over at Saturn 5 syndicated.
(*cough* Ahem. ;)

I've passed on Surly's question to the King O'Syndicating and I'm sure he won't mind adding it, too, as soon as he's back online! :)
(I'm sneaking out of the office for a few minutes now to get a bottle of wine to enjoy while I mutilate pumpkins tonight...I think I deserve it, don't you? Yeah, I thought so. Hurrah!)

Thanks a bunch, both of you. And enjoy that bottle of wine--you do deserve it. (:

I kinda hate being forced to do that. It's a big PITA (for both me, and my friends that would like to link to my images), but it's necessary. It hasn't so much been an issue with saturn-5 yet, as it's a very young site (tho I have already had a hot-linking incident that I had to deal with after shots I took at a cycling event started showing up unattributed on a mesage board), but stuff on burningchrom.com was pretty bad. Our network connection was completely saturated, mostly with people hotlinking to my images (the photoshop silliness was popular for some reason) or search engine crawlers beating the hell out of the image directories. We ended up taking a lot of serious measures to get that under control (from replacing images with "STOP STEALING BANDWIDTH" messages, to redirecting of directory index listings, to being actively hostile to search crawlers ( ... )
