...and then to the grocery i go.
Earlier i posted a link to the Ok Go! treadmill video on YouTube. When i went to YouTube to find the video, i noticed a video on the front page called
"Good bye Martin" with the description "Martin's wife Teresa explains Martin's death and thanks YouTube." I finally had a chance to take a look at the video, and it's pretty much exactly what it says. "Martin" was
MHarris1920, a veteran of WWII who'd started vidblogging his experiences in the war for his family and for history. Teresa talks a little bit about what he did, and what YouTube meant for him and for her and their family, as it sounds like some of the stories he told on YouTube were things he hadn't shared since the war. Martin had only been a member for three weeks but had already made 8 videos and had 1300 subscribers when he died.
It's hard to explain how i feel about this. I think it speaks very directly to what YouTube can be, and what the Internet is evolving into.
Anyway. I don't have any deep thoughts, at least none that i can put words to. Go watch Martin's videos.
