I really, really hope not but it could definitely be the economy. A TON of restaurants have closed down here in my town over the past 1.5 years and they were the first businesses that I noticed being effected by the economy. Places that were always crowded closed down out of the blue. It was totally weird and a lot of them still haven't reopened as anything new yet. I'm sure B&J is still making bank off their supermarket ice cream so at least you know that will never go away. Hell, Chris is practically sending their grandkids to college buying Creme Brulee pints every time we go shopping like it's going out of style.
I have read a couple of books about their corporate model and philosophy and they are one of the companies that has my undying loyalty not just based on their product but also their politics... they carved their niche by working outside of the system you know?
It's sad to see them fall victim to the current economic climate.
I'll have you know that once you clued me into the creme brulee ice cream, It was all over for me. I love that stuff, but I can't have it. Fatty eats a pint at a time.
