I got... stuff. Lots of it. But most importantly, a Serenity keychain and the Firefly visual companions + Still Flying, which I've been meaning to get forever. (Already have the Serenity visual companion). I have photos of all gifts so might try and post those up today.

Speaking of things that were never allowed again... remember these two? WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM? I hear from reliable sources (i.e. the haters at ohnotheydidn't) that they didn't have a single scene in the finale.

I think there is, possibly, a meaning to be had from the series. As I was saying to sherrilina, I'm read it as the writers telling us that anyone who becomes part of the UES becomes THE WORST and unsympathetic, and only those who leave will have a truly happy life. (Those who stay marry their creepy stalkers and are teenagers forever.)

You should... IDK... rewatch Buffy or something. I'm watching BtVS for the first time :D

lol yeah, I mean Serena/Blair devolved to the point where nothing about their lasting devotion to each other rang true, but it is hard to believe they basically got nothing in the finale. (I believe they had one scene where Blair trashed Dan to Serena because he was poor or something).

That's how I see it too, but I don't think that was the intent, at all. Everyone's bad behaviour ultimately was rewarded with what they ~really wanted. Chuck and Blair got a happily-ever-after marriage and a kid and Dan was rewarded for his stalking with Serena. ugh this show really is the ultimate worst.

That sounds like a lovely coat! The big present I'm getting is still yet to come; it's an Ikea gift card so I can furnish my new apartment to my heart's content. Also, I really need plates.

Are you going to Cuba again?! That would definitely be a good remedy for all that snow, which looks horrendous.

That steakhouse looks very fancy! And of course I immediately zeroed in on the latkes when I looked at the menu. I will be doing NYE all by my lonesome, since the fam is out of town and I don't have any friends yet. I could have gone away with my sister et al., but work will probably be crazy tomorrow. Apparently working in the real estate/finance group means never being able to make New Years plans.

I do! Sort of! I'm not actually moved in yet and won't until mid-month, but I'm still excited. It's gorgeous and it's all mine!!!

Ahh, not not New Year's Day! But I definitely needed to be in the office today; it wasn't crazy as previously advertized, but it was busy.

If I focus solely on this Dair video and forget everything that happen in that series 5 finale.. all is right with the world. *le sigh* I used to love this song, and while I still like it.. it's tinged with the ending that everyone saw coming miles away.

I'm going to miss the recaps from everyone proclaiming just how far Gossip Girl has fallen, and continued to fall in Series 6, that was so helpful for me to have. I never did watch the last series, just kept track of it on Tumblr which is where it'll stay. Maybe I'll watch the Met Steps scene and have that be my finale. :)
