The compulsion thing at the end, though? WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT YOU GUYS. It was sad when I first watched it BUT WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

Everyone seems to think it was in character for Elena (and obviously Damon has no morals), and she has done this before. But I just wonder where it's going to go. As you say, Jeremy finally did something interesting, and now he's leaving?

But Stefan...? It's this whole is the switch on/off thing, is what happened his fault or is it Klaus's, how much humanity does he have left, does he still care about Elena?

I cannot explain Stefan. I really wish the 'switch' had never been introduced. Why do vampires shows always fall back on something like this? Couldn't Klaus have compelled him to just "obey me" instead of "turn it off". But anyway. We all know Stefan was following Klaus in the beginning of S3 of his own free will, and was being all angsty dark Stefan about it. Forgetting the metaphor of the switch, something has been flipped. He's been back on his binge of murder and such, and I think he feels there's no going back to his old life, so he's not even going to try. He doesn't think he deserves Elena or anything he had in Mystic Falls, so he's throwing himself into this Klaus revenge thing. Really, though, I bet when Stefan went on or off the wagon in the past, I bet it always came with a change of location. Whether he was on or off, he would want to leave behind whatever he'd been doing when he had been off or on.

Yeah, IA that it's not OOC for Elena, it just sucks that Jeremy finally gets interesting only to leave the show. My hope is that he comes back ala Tyler at the end of the season (AND THEN KILLS MORE VAMPIRES WITH MEAT CLEAVERS \o/).

Stefan in the first few episodes of S3 made SO MUCH SENSE to me and it was glorious. Now...? IDEK. I like the idea that he's basically given up on his old life and is essentially just imploding now because there's nothing else. HOW DOES HE COME BACK FROM THIS THO. HOW DOES ANYONE COME BACK.
