BB!Weber got his first NHL goal, and Patches had a great night with two goals and a fight (so close to a Gordie Howe), and Gio got his 200th goal \o/

So there was both good and bad, but it was very entertaining none the less. *nods*

Also, Price said that he is good friends with Timmy (yes, he called him Timmy), so they were only play fighting out there because neither wants to get hurt and ruin their season. They were laughing afterwards and everything... BUT PRICE WON! \o/

I think the Universe would find it funny if we get matched with the Bruins for the first round of the playoffs... I won't, but I think the Universe would.

Aww! Patches! bb!Weber! Gio!! I love them all. \o/ Well AK46 can gtfo. I have a weird soft-spot in my heart for Gomez even though he is mostly indefensible.

LOL THAT IS CUTE. Also Price totally did win that round.

OMG DON'T EVEN SPEAK OF SUCH THINGS RN. *knocks on wood*

I MEAN it is not like I would be protesting and up in arms if they traded him tomorrow (and I am so ready for AK46 to gtfo), but he seems like a decent guy and an okay hockey player. The problem is, an "okay hockey player" is not worth 8 million a year.

...still think you are being too nice to him, but I'll save that rant for another day. I have chocolate, and I plan to enjoy the rest of my evening! :P

I used to be able to handwave him and assume that he must be a nice person since Gio speaks so highly of him, but... with the bad penalties that cost us game, the passes to no one, the circling out of the opposition zone, the backhanded compliments when speaking about Subban, the general lack of heart and drive, and the constant sarcasm when speaking with the press... it all just doesn't sit well with me anymore. If I was making $7.8 million and was repeatedly considered to be the weakest link on my team I would be ASHAMED, and he just sits on the bench laughing and smirking... I just CAN'T anymore when it comes to him ( ... )

LOL I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY IN HIS DEFENCE. YOU WIN.

I've heard talk about buying out his contract. How would that effect the cap hit? Could they even do that? Or would the etiquette against it be too strong?

It would hit the cap unfortunately. If he keeps playing how he has been playing it would be worth it though. Typically players are only bought out when their presence is a detriment to the team (see: coach) their contract doesn't allow them to be moved to AHL or traded within NHL (players rarely refuse to waive their no trade clause though), and the roster spot is needed.

We had to cover Laraque's contract in this year's cap budget because we bought him out over the summer.

The Canucks were in NY playing the Islanders a few weeks back and got the "USA, USA, USA" chant too.

I don't understand... or maybe they don't understand. :P Is this maybe an Eastern Conference thing? >_

So far this season I have heard the chant in the Penguins' building, The Rangers, the Bruins, the Blackhawks and at least one other which escapes me at the moment. I think it is a new fan after the Olympics thing.

DO YOU KNOW THAT IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SINCE THE OLYMPICS STARTED ON SATURDAY????? Well, technically the games didn't start until the 13th *cough*mybirthday*cough*, but the opening ceremony was on the 12th, and the GOLDEN GOAL was scored on the 28th, so we are almost at ONE YEAR to the day the most important goal EVER was scored!

... just saying

I KNOW I WAS ACTUALLY JUST THINKING OF THAT RECENTLY.

We should make February 28 a national holiday.
