The books sound like Twilight. A lot like Twilight. AT LEAST STEFAN WAS GOING TO DIE BY SUNLIGHT AND NOT SPARKLING.

I think the book series is a lot closer to Twilight than the TV series is ngl. But Elena as a character is a lot stronger/more independent in the book series than I was expecting. Her relationship with Stefan is so bad though omg. And like... at least Bella didn't have to spend the entire Twilight series rescuing Edward at every turn.

Lol her doing the rescuing sounds like a plus point, although I suspect I would be confused as to why she even likes him. JUST RESCUE HIM AND THEN GO OUT WITH SOMEONE NICE.

All Stefan did was: 1). Ignore her; 2). Be all emotionally distant because ~he is a monster~; 3). Get in trouble and need to be rescued.
