I. Last night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers was such a tragedy omg. I AM NOT EVEN KIDDING, I walked around for the next three hours feeling like this guy:

Omg, hockey. You have made me care so much this year & now I feel all the pain that goes along with it.

But the Globe and Mail referred to the Habs as one of the "elite" teams in the league which cheered me up a little. Despite how well they've been playing this season, I feel like there hasn't been much recognition that the Habs have turned into a very good hockey club.

II. In law nerdery, there has been a lot of coverage of the polygamy case out in B.C. which I have been finding the most interesting thing in the paper. The tl;dr version is this: polygamy is a criminal offence in Canada and even though the police *want* to crack down on some of the province's polygamy communities, there are some concerns that the law might not be consistent with the Charter of Rights. So... the government has asked the courts to answer the question of whether or not the law is constitutional. TBH I think polygamy activists have an uphill battle on this since there are real harms to women and children that result from polygamy, but it should still be interesting.

III. I ALSO read in the paper about Bristol Palin making it to the final of Dancing with the Stars??? Omg, America, what have you done. Is the U.S. saturated with media attention on the Palin family all the time? I am sorry. So sorry.

IV. Lastly, I've made lots of new friends from The Vampire Diaries fandom over the last few days! \o/ WELCOME TO MY JOURNAL, I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR STAY. I plan to put up an About Me post... at some point. But right now I have paper writing to do.

hockey = irrational canadian rage, habs, hockey: stop breaking my heart, american politics, law geekery, random
