(no subject)
Both of the people who I was supposed to go out for dinner with this evening cancelled on me at the last minute which means I am now reading about Trust Law instead of enjoying delicious Indian food. It is a very sad state of affairs.
So here are some things related to my interests:
-Maclean's magazine has accused Quebec of being the most corrupt place in all of North America or something which is predictably going over very well. (Note to self: Stop thinking that maybe "this time" reading the comments on CBC articles is a good idea. It is never a good idea.)
-The Habs won a pre-season game! Which means... nothing! \o/ But it's nice to think that hockey will come back to me soon for real. I miss it. (p.s. Habs, I am still angry about how you traded Halak, but I cannot look away WHY CAN I NOT LOOK AWAY).
-LOOK AT THIS CAKE DOESN'T IT LOOK AMAZING? Someone come here and make me that.
The 30 Day Female Character Meme looks pretty awesome, so I'm going to try and go for it even if... I sadly do not know if I "love" enough female character for 30 days. I'm going to do my best though.

Day 1: Martha Jones
Martha: The thing is, it's like my friend Vicky, she lived with this bloke, student housing, there were five of them, all packed in, and this bloke was called Sean. And she loved him, she did. She completely adored him. Spent all day long talking about him.
Doctor: Is this.... going anywhere?
Martha: Yes! ‘Cos he never looked at her twice. I mean, he liked her, but that was it. And she wasted years pining after him, years of her life, ‘cause while he was around, she never looked at anyone else. And I told her, I always said to her, time and time again, I said: Get out. So this is me, getting out.
What is there left to say about Martha that hasn’t been said? She was handed the inglorious job of Rebound Companion and looking after Ten when he was at one of his most... er... genocidal periods... and YET. She walks the Earth for a year to save the world without a weapon, holds her family together, and then gets to walk away with her dignity and head held high. Martha Jones, you’re a star, you are everything I wish I could be and more. I would watch a children’s spin-off series about you in a heartbeat and the BBC has a history so I don’t consider it entirely out of the realm of possibility okay.
