I think he liked bb Amelia a lot, and she... wanted... idk, to run away from her wedding.
I think that's it right there... It all ties back to BB Amelia. I'm starting to think that his encounter with her at that young age kind of STUNTED her in a way. It's like, now that he's back, she's reverted to being a 7 year old and she's somehow confused and lost and vulnerable. I don't think even she knows why she wants to run away. I don't think she understands why she feels such an attachment to the Doctor. Maybe it has something to do with feeling safe? Remember in the Eleventh Hour how he makes the comment about the crack in her wall being really scary since she's not afraid of anything else?
Well think about it. Here she is, scared of this one thing, and this man comes along whom she trusts right away and whom she thinks will keep her safe. Then he vanishes and doesn't come back - on some level that had to be terrifying. On another level she's this wistful little girl who wanted to go on an adventure with him. Now, 14 years later she finally can and I bet a part of her is worried that if she goes back home for any length of time, she'll never see him again.
Bottom line, I think Amy's rather messed up in the head and that we don't know the full extent of that yet. I'm sure it somehow relates to the Crack and the the huge gaps of time between visits from the Doctor. I'm hoping that it's all going to start to fall into place soon and we'll all be like "ooooooh". But anyway, that's my long winded theory on why Amy seems to be so inconsistent.
