Short reaction: I liked that a whole lot! It even felt very RTD era to me. Well played, Toby Whitehouse.

Okay I'm gonna go into weirdo territory and say I think you're trying to take Amy's feelings for Rory too literally and trying to make something tangible out of something which may not be possible at this point in the story.

The way I see it, Amy's trying to make Rory jealous by prancing about with the Doctor and whatnot because I think she feels like she's 'settling'. Rory was a childhood friend and close to her but she sees him more as a slightly pathetic yet dependable fallback guy. She made the call to marry him probably because she didn't think she'd have anything better later in life (like waiting around for the Doctor who had oh-so-good timing). But when the Doctor actually did come to whisk her away, she realized that "Holy shit, there's all this stuff I can see/do/Eleven is awesome" and Rory seemed so inconsequential, even on the eve of their wedding ( ... )

EXCUSE U.

I... suppose? I dunno, I still feel like we're missing some of that explanation. I mean, that's what Mickey/Rose was, right? Except that we actually saw whereas the only thing we know about Rory is that he's her fiancee. We don't even know if they were childhood friends.

But now that the Doctor is trying to get them to work out (awww and lulz honestly), Amy is using the opportunity to torment Rory like "neener neener see how much cooler he is IRL? Why can't YOU do that?" Probably to see if she can get a response out ( ... )

See at the moment I find there's a huge difference between Amy/Rory and Rose/Mickey. With Rose and Mickey I actually felt that Rose loved Mickey a lot before she met the Doctor, and it was while she was with the Doctor that she grew distant and cold to Mickey (from my standpoint, which I admittedly had issues with). With Amy and Rory, I don't feel like they have that same kind of connection. I feel like they are legit friends but Amy kind of resents him because at the moment she probably sees him as a cage. I know this can and will come across as really cold but tbh I get where she's coming from and I can connect with that (if this indeed is the reasoning behind her actions thus far).

lol I think this comment makes me come across as a really cold-hearted bitch, WOO.

I got the impression from Rose that she was fond of Mickey, but that she settled for him because he was "safe." But the relationships are definitely being handled differently in text - I think we were supposed to be, as the audience, rooting for Doctor/Rose with Mickey as the annoying third party coming between them whereas I get the impression from Vampires in Venice that we're supposed to be rooting for Rory and Amy to reconcile. Plus Eleven's attempts to play couple's therapy are hilarious.

Compleeeeetely agreed. I mean there's only so long a girl can hold out. Poor Rory though, I didn't like him in the first ep because I thought he was a bit uggo and pathetic but now that he actually got a modicum of development he's starting to grow on me.

Crossing my fingers for more relationship development, plzkthx.
