This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but I've seen a number of "please comment here if you don't want to be defriended" posts (don't remember from who) lately. I won't ever be commenting on those posts - never have, probably never will. I completely understand that people drift apart and I'll certainly reciprocate with no hard feelings if someone defriends me, but I generally assume that most people who are on my flist want to be here whether or not they do comment. It's great if you do, but sometimes people just want to lurk. LJ does not come with an "obligation to comment!" warning when you sign up. And, hey, some of us have really big flists. :D
What I'm saying is, just because I won't respond to a "comment here if you want to stay!" post does not mean I necessarily want to be defriended. Again, it's totally fine if someone does defriend me - people drift, and who wants to be reading about Doctor Who and Canadian politics all the time if you really like, I dunno, Supernatural and Mexican politics. But those kinds of posts do make me feel a little bit like I'm being emotionally blackmailed, which makes me go like this D:.
Anyway, the last thing I want to do is control how other people manage their flists, but I just wanted to explain myself in the future in case anyone ever went "Hey, that
goldy_dollar person didn't comment to my friending post! She doesn't want to be here!"
And as an incentive not to defriend me anytime in the future:
I will never not love that little squee noise he makes in this scene. XD
And WHILE I AM ON THE TOPIC, is there anyone who has friended me sometime over the last little while and has been waiting for me to friend you back? I do keep some of my fandom related posts locked. Just drop me a comment if so. :D
