*TWITCH* With all the rumours swirling around, I'm starting to think there has to be a grain of truth in it somewhere.
So... let's say, for the sake of speculation, that there is a movie in the making. Given that David Tennant is "leaving" the role and Matt Smith is taking over come 2010, the expectation seems to be that Ten will die and regenerate. But what if he doesn't?! I mean, I suppose that this rumoured movie could take place during some random adventure in the past, but... that doesn't sound like RTD to me. What does sound like RTD is something completely whacked out, that makes no sense, is impossible to predict, and that fans will still be debating over in 10 years. AND will lead to both Matt Smith and a movie deal for Ten in a way that makes sense. Sort of. (e.g. Rose gets to spend her life with the Doctor and he also gets to keep travelling alone! THERE IS A HISTORY HERE.)
Thing is, everyone is assuming we're going to see Ten regenerate in the final moments of his last episode. Maybe RTD has something else up his sleeve. Especially if movie talk has been in the works for a while.
Also, there is no way RTD would do a movie and not have Rose in it, right? RIGHT?! And also Donna and Martha... and... and I'm getting ahead of myself, aren't I?
Hmmm. I think the reason I'm glomming on to the idea of a movie so much is because it theoretically means I never have to really move on from Doctor Who. I could continue freaking out and obsessing over it for years to come. Wouldn't that be great? :D
And happy Journey's End anniversary! And also, American Independence Day, I guess. :)
