blinded by love... pretty much sums it up. I had a dog with perfect behaviour. People used to comment on how obedient he was. He wasn't, however. It was only an act. He never obeyed me, he anticipated what I wanted him to do and he did it, thereby removing me from the equation or at least putting me in the position of obeying him.
If it were my dad and me, the conversation would have gone something like this:
Dad: Just send him out to chase the deer!
Me: You're out of your ever-lovin' mind. If you're bored, go watch TV or play your guitar or something! I'm going to church now, so you'd better be good.
Sometimes dads need even more disciplining than dogs. :-)
Awwwww. What a cute overgrown puppy. Arthur sounds like he has so much personality. Wish I could meet him... *sends long-distance pats*
My Captain tends to do the same thing, as far as being extra-especially-good when someone's struggling to get another dog to behave. In his first puppy class, he started doing synchronized obedience with another dog he liked, obeying every command her owner gave when he was supposed to be just waiting his turn. It can be a pretty adorable attempt to impress... even if he does turn into a little brat when it comes to his turn to obey commands I really need him to listen to. XD

Glad Arthur is not the only dog who pretends to be good . . .
