1. MY first grade teacher is retiring, and we had the school assembly in her honor. *sniffle*
2.[Serious Doctor Who spoiler]MATT SMITH IS NOT COMING BACK?!?!?!?!?! WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH or to quote my little brother "The show will be garbage now." [Okay, I don't actually think that, since Steven Moffat will still write it awesomely. And given the way the River Song arc ended, I think it's an appropriate time for him to leave. But still. *sniffle*]
3. If you have been my friend virtually or in real life for any length of time, you may be picking up on a pattern. [Serious Animal Farm Spoilers] Benjamin was the oldest animal on the farm, and the worst tempered. He seldom talked, and when he did, it was usually to make some cynical remark -- for instance, he would say that God had given him a tail to keep the flies off, but that he would sooner have had no tail and no flies. Alone among the animals on the farm he never laughed. If asked why, he would say that he saw nothing to laugh at. Nevertheless without openly admitting it, he was devoted to Boxer; the two of them usually spent their Sunday together in the small paddock beyond the orchard grazing side by side and never speaking.
And then . . .
However, Benjamin and Clover could only be with Boxer after working hours, and it was in the middle of the day when the van came to take him away. The animals were all at work weeding turnips under the supervision of a pig, when they were astonished to see Benjamin come galloping from the direction of the farm buildings, braying at the top of his voice. It was the first time that they had ever seen Benjamin excited --- indeed, it was the first time that anyone had ever seen him gallop. "Quick, quick! he shouted. "Come at once! They're taking Boxer away!"
AND THEN
Only old Benjamin was much the same as ever, except for being a little greyer about the muzzle, and, since Boxer's death, more morose and taciturn than ever.
