ELEMENTARY CHOIR STUDENT:  I'm ___________, but you teach my older sister Latin, so you already know that.

-----------------------------

SECONDARY ENGLISH STUDENT:  For this final question [What was your favorite work we read the first half of the year?], can it be opinion?

ME:  *headdesk*

-------------------------------

ME:  So, does anyone know what strings are on a violin?

[Many hands shoot up]

FIRST GRADER 1:  A, B, C?

ME:  No, but good guess!

FG 2:  I'm going to take violin lessons.

ME: Are you?

FG 2:  Yes.  The lady who is going to teach me is in my church and she just had a baby.

ME: Oh, so you can't take them yet?

FG 2:  No.  Also we don't know what violin to buy.

ME:  I see.  So, does anyone know what strings are on a violin?

FG 3:  I took violin lessons!

ME:  Very nice!  So do you know the strings?

FG 3:  No.  I forgot.

ME: That's too bad.  Yes, you.  You think you know?

FG 4:  Can I close the door? This could be loud.

-----------------------------

ME:  Thanks for saying that, Lil' Bro!  I feel a lot better now!

LIL' BRO:  [bracing himself]  PLEASE DON'T FEEL BETTER BY TAILGATING THAT CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-----------------------------

LIL' BRO:  Are those sweet potato fries, mom?

MOM:  Yes.  I need to eat sweet potatoes for this really strict diet, and I don't like them so I'm having a few of these instead.

EVERYONE:  *howls with laughter*

MOM:  Well, they are steak fries.
