I have a severely deviated septum. I have known this for a long time. But it took me twenty-five years to go to the ENT specialist.
The ENT specialist showed me a picture of a deviated septum. "I usually show this to people and say that this is an exaggeration and their noses don't really look like that. I can't say that to you. You're going to have to get that fixed surgically."
Now, as I mentioned, I've known this for a long time.
But because I had a conversation about it with the doctor, I am having psychosomatic discomfort and am hyper-aware of my completely useless left nostril.
