new LJ friends

Nov 18, 2012 17:23

I was looking at my friends list and many of them haven't updated their LJs in years. I have just a handful of friends who update their LJ and I am feeling quite alone and sometimes bored, even with the non-stop work (sometimes I want to just sit here and share in people's lives ( Read more... )

The ladies on my list are great, but when I was thinking who you might enjoy most, the first few that came to mind are mostly friends-only and I think it would be the right thing to do to ask permission before passing on their names... And who knows, maybe you would click best with some I'm not even thinking about at the moment. If you want, I could "advertise" you to my f-list, just mention who you are and that you are looking for new LJ friends, and that you're a great friend, and if somebody is interested, they could get in touch with you. Let me know if you would like me to do that and if you would like me to include any specific info about you. I have seen friends doing it for others a few times, and it seemed to result in quite a few new friendships.

Ok, sure! That is very kind of you. Thank you :)

Would you like me to do the same, here?

Sure, that would be great :) It seems like you have some great people here, judging from comments. You also seem to have quite a few friends who run home daycares, and I would love to connect with some of them, since it's something I would love to do one day. Maybe you could mention that, and also that I would love to get to know some moms who have their kids close together (about 2 years apart), as this is what we are hoping for? But, of course, I am open to becoming friends with others too.

Is there anything specific you would like me to say about you in my LJ?

I have two friends here that run daycares.

Really, only maybe 10 total post at all anymore.

I'd rather not have too much personal info about me shared. Maybe just that I am a mother of two small children opening a home based daycare and newly separated?

I will post about you, now :)

HI, I saw your post on teacentral's saying that you are looking for people who contribute regularly to LJ. I post almost every day. I have an 18 month old son.

Thanks for adding me!

I've added you back.

I post frequently as well. My son Oliver is 2, my daughter Victoria is almost 5. I live just an hour north of Toronto.

You are one of the last Of my friends that updates on a regular basis. There's one more that posts less frequently and the others I've not seen anything from in ages.

Wow. I guess you have to keep adding new people to keep the momentum going. I can now see why you update so rarely :( are you close to done with LJ? I hope not!

How is your house doing?

I dont think I'll ever close my LJ. I do like to keep up with the few people that do post! I'd update more if I had the time. I often think "Oh I should update" but then never have the time to sit and do so.

Our house is ok. Unfortunately our furnace has stopped working completely. :( We had someone come out yesterday to look at it and it will cost over $400 to have it repaired and we just don't have that money right now. So for now Jacob is sleeping with us and the other two boys are in Jacob's room and we have a couple space heaters running.

I use FB for news clipping and professional networking; LJ I retain for personal and spiritual journal keeping. I try to keep up with it but, same as you, I find that very few friends still use it.
