Not sure how many of you actually care about Damageplan and Pantera.. but I for one enjoyed both bands.. So, May Dimebag Darrell Abbott rest in peace

Never met the guy, didn't really enjoy Damageplan. Downloaded the CD, didn't like it enough to buy it, or even keep it on the hard drive. Pantera was the bomb in the early to mid 90's.
Apparently people heard someone yell, "you broke up Pantera" but they haven't figured out if it was the shooter or someone else. It sorta scares the hell out of me, because when you are up on stage, you are literally naked. When I've been up on stage, it's usually a tank top or no shirt, and jeans or shorts (I sweat ALOT) You can't always see the whole crowd because there are lights shining in your eyes. You also don't really know what is going on around you, because you are really concentrating on the music.
I don't really see it affecting it that much around here. They already point out all the fire exits due to the Station fire and in MA you can't smoke indoors in a public place so it lessens that. Most places around here at least do a cursory check of pockets and purses. I remember back in 1989 I saw Ozzy and Anthrax and they had full body checks, armed policemen on horses, etc ...
I honestly dont have a clue why a guy did that, or what we could do to stop it from happening again. It's probably more of a reflection of society than I can imagine. I guess we still haven't learned anything from John Lennon's death.

Totally true! It’s a shame and all these people give a fortune to bodyguards, but they are no bodyguards on stage, maybe, on the sides of it. So... never twho without a third on. Who will be the next :-(
