Opening Weekend

By and large a fun Opening Weekend at the MD Renaissance Festival. Rather hot and sticky but Saturday saw some huge crowds. That is until about two hours before closing when the rush was over. That was cool as Pam cut me early and I got to play for a few hours before going out to dinner with people from the booth. Dinner was a great deal of fun and we laughed really hard over cheeseburgers at Fudd's.

Sunday I got there a couple hours early. I wasn't due to work until noon so I got some more hours of play time. Got my hair "braided" (really a hair slide but has a similar look) at the Leather Rose booth. Went to see the glass blower about making me a new ice chest (bodice cooler) and saw some friends along the way. Traffic at the booth was a bit slower on Sunday. Guess everyone had rushed out on Saturday to get their garb for this Ren Fest season. Again I was cut a couple of hours early so this meant even more play time. Walked around with one of the new wenches from the booth. Had a lot of fun; listened to The Rogues play their bagpipe-based Celtic music, as well as saw this year's court and caught up on the season's story line.

I did get to have a bit of fun as we were leaving that evening. We stopped at the local gas/grocery market. Still in garb, I went inside to use the bathroom while Inertia Kitty filled the car with gas. On the way out, I stopped at the counter and purchased a soda. The two employees behind the counter were speaking Korean. I heard the one make a comment to the other about my breasts. I just smiled and then when he gave me back my change I said in my best Korean "thank you very much." The look on their face was priceless as I turned and went to meet *IK* at the car. We giggled about it all the way home.
