Time Flies
Today is 3/3/09. As I was writing today's date, I had a the clear memory of where I was six years ago, on 3/3/03.
I was in Irmo, South Carolina with my Americorps NCCC team. We were tutoring kids at Irmo Elementary School. The memory I have is during the after-school program we had a converstaion with the kids about the date. One of the kids asked if it was ever happen again, it being 3/3/03. The kids were all very excited for some reason about the date. Not exactly sure why the memory is so clear, but I just remember it. The kids were so excited. They were jumping all around saying, "3, 3, 3!" I can't believe that it was six years ago! I also can't believe that these kids are now in high school! I wonder about some of them once in a while. Here is a picture of some of the kids. I know it wasn't taken on that exact date, but within two weeks of it at least.
On another note, my brother just left for his Americorps adventure in Alaska this past weekend. I am so excited for him! I know how much my exprience changed my outlook on life and I know it will for him too. I am proud of him!
