Haha, Readings Week! At last! I finally have time to actually post in my journal, catch up on my readings, and do a decent amount of work on my thesis (which I have actually started now, amazingly enough). Naturally, with all this free time, I immediately caught the plague, and spent the past four days languishing on my couch (though I did manage to get to class on Friday - in hindsight that wasn't the best idea, as it turned a rather nasty cold into a full-blown fever-dreaming-muscle-spasming-lung-hacking nightmare). However, I am now almost completely better - my nose is very nearly not stuffed up, I've been sitting up for several hours without experience pain or unconsciousness, and I almost-sort-of-nearly sound like a person when I talk instead of a duck. Triumph! Now I just have to convince myself to actually get some work done this week. Death to procrastination! Well, that's not entirely fair; a mildly sprained ankle to procrastination, so that I may combine my usual healthy procrastination-style with some effective school-working! Not quite as catchy, is it?
In other news, Shelagh Rogers read my letter on the radio this morning - yesterday her guest was slagging on the dress she wore at the East Coast Music Awards, and I wrote in to say he was a dick, though not in so many words (because seriously, that was just like kicking a puppy - a friendly, Maritime puppy who had just offered you tea!) And today it was on the radio! My 93-year-old Grampy was very excited, and immediately called long-distance to tell me about it. I'm Canada-Famous!
