Sure, every region in Italy (21 regions) has its own mask and theatral tradition. Pulcinella is very famous for his comical character.

Italian theatre stems from very ancient roots, originating as far back as in ancient Latin and Greek times. From time immemorial travelling players moved from one town to the next and still today Italian theatre is based on the idea of tours with no fixed theatre company in any one town ( ... )

Aren't there four stock characters in the Commedia del'Arte? Besides Pulcinella, there's Harlequin, Columbine, and -- somebody I can't remember.

Brighella, Pantalone, Balanzone... There are 21 different characters in the Italian Commedia dell'Arte. If you wish I'll write you a complete list of them.

Pantalone is the one I was thinking of, I guess. These four are the ones that appear in British Christmas mimes and stuff, I think.

Yes, I would like to know all 21 characters and what they represent.
