More life updates
Welp, here's the scoop
1. Our dog, Puppy, (a 12 year old senior, mind you) has to live permanently as a cone head. We tried "testing" him without his cone and he gave himself the worst hotspot yet. The vet said it's probably from his joints (arthritis and patellar subluxation - he hurts so he tries to eat it I guess). He is on medication to help his joints out and right now it's just a maintenance thing. We aren't going to do surgery - we'll just wait for him to tell us when he's had enough. I figure we'll probably get another couple good years out of him though. He's also very dirty and gross. He's going to the groomer and they're gonna shave him bald.
2. Mushi. My cutie little Mushi cat. She's our exotic shorthair kitty. She has the WORST coat I have ever encountered. She sheds non stop 365 days a year - and not just a little shedding. I mean you can sit down with her and a slicker brush and have AT LEAST one full brush in 5 minutes time. You finally just have to give up because it doesn't stop coming. Her fur is also kinda greasy. Well we took her to a groomer where they bathed her and brushed the crap out of her and she said she got a plastic shopping bag full of hair and when i petted her it was STILL coming out. She looked like she had lost 3 pounds just from all the brushing. Apparently this is a persian throw back (the shedding and the greasy coat) and she gave us a couple of tips to keep the issues under control. But the shedding we're just going to have to accept and make sure we groom her regularly.
3. Poor Thomas (2nd kitty) - ever since we brought Mushi home from the groomer he has been hissing and smacking her non stop. The process of getting Mushi groomed is stressing Thomas out so bad I'm not sure if we'll take her again! It's been 4 days and he's still freaked out.
4. Our ratty boys are neutered and the two girls are now safely mingling with them. They've been kissing each other through the cages until today when they got to pile on each other. In a week or so we'll probably move the girls in with the boys. They're all very cute and entertaining.
5. I'm studying my brains out for physics. It's down to the wire. I CANNOT put it off anymore.
6. We switched cellular service from verizon to tmobile. The service at verizon has been great it just comes down to price. Tmobile had some juicy deals on family plans and since we added my sister to our family plan (she has no phone, period) it worked out best. It would cost us about 15-20 bucks more a month to stick with verizon for a similar plan - but I'd also have to give up my phone! i got a blackberry pearl and verizon makes you pay 30-45 bucks a month extra for a data plan and I don't want or need that. I basically use it as an organizer and the phone quality is amazing AND it's the small size I was craving. So I don't know if I can give up my phone to go back to verizon! Technically we have 10 more days to decide...
7. I picked out the earrings. The fancier ones were priced out of our budget. I'm ok with that.
