another year passes, another natal anniverssary of Jimmy Buffet is celebrated in his absence

The Jimmy Buffet Birthday Party was wild and colorful and noisy and wonderful, as usual. Having it at the Flower House is so much fun. What a delight, to have such wonderful co-hosts and such an appropriate house in which to play. Much piña colada and mango margarita was poured. The heat was turned up and the Winter clothes came off to reveal bikinis and sarongs. There was even a little dancing, along with a lot of snuggling, flirting, singing, drinking, and general silliness. Old friends were reconciled, new friends were made, a hospitalized friend joined us for a bit via Skype. There was ham slathered in pineapple, I got to grill hamburgers in a bikini, and someone brought a giant tub of chocolates (of which I ate far too many.) The three teens played hide-and-seek, Smashup!, and even got a tiny bit of piña colada, then the two who stayed the night crashed out at the base of the fire pole. (Why didn't I take a picture of that!?) In the morning there were taro pancakes with pineapple and coconut syrups, more snuggling, and then the last few guests reluctantly drifted away over the afternoon. The smell of tropical flowers still lingers on my skin. I'm hard pressed to choose a favorite memory, but I think it may be watching two of the new-comers, who arrived knowing only the person who brought them, flirting comfortably like they'd known each other for decades. I took far too few pictures, forgetting in the midst of the fun as I usually do, but I did get an adorable one of Jeremy and I. I'd post it, but I seem to have left my camera at the Flower House. (Oh, no! I'll just have to go back soon, I guess.)
