I had asked Russ to mow the lawn one more time, short, before we got into the raining-every-day time of year. It's really hard for me to rake up the fallen leaves when the grass is long, and last year I didn't do it at all, which causes hummocks and lumps in the lawn and makes it messy and a lot of work in Spring. Our lawn mower died this Spring. We had a neighbor mowing, but he flaked half-way through the Summer, so it has gotten really long. I looked up when we might have two dry days together, and asked Russ to borrow his mom's mower. Turns out, she just replaced hers with a tiny electric one with a cord too short to reach our front lawn. So I asked Sidhefire if I could borrow theirs. I went and picked it up yesterday (and got some much-needed kisses from ulesegisa, who I haven't seen in weeks) and Russ was going to mow today, Thursday. Which the weather report had said was going to be dry. I was eyeing the sky skeptically last night as he was getting ready to work out, and decided to check the weather report again. Sure enough, it was updated with "rain tonight and all day tomorrow." So I asked if he'd postpone his workout to mow. He did, and even stayed out after if got mostly dark, to finish while I fixed dinner. I didn't expact that, and I feel really special. Thank you, Love, for taking time to do that for me.
