this is why I don't bake often

I made lemon bars! \o/

The good news: They're very tasty. Nom. (I wrote "nasty" first and read it over like 3 times before I caught it. Um, 't' isn't anywhere near 'n' on the keyboard. What the heck, self.)

The bad news: Umm, apparently I fail at making baked goods look pretty. I mean, in the pan they look fine, but try to take a piece out and it turns into lemon-filling+crust crumble. Kind of defeats the purpose of them being bars if you have to eat them with a fork. XD *sigh* Ah well.

(Dear Yuri: Please to be not tripping me up so much this chapter with your inability to be overly sentimental and think-y. I've been stuck on the same paragraph for a day now. Rargh.)

In SPN news, it's been interesting to see the fan reaction to 5.03. On the ontd Supernatural community, they loved it and were full of squee. On TelevisionWithoutPity, they criticized it heavily and found certain aspects contrived. Of course, this contrast shouldn't surprise me too much as TWP is known for cynical snark and ontd is a hyperactive capslock fest. My own reaction was more like: d-did they just...?! They did! *hysterical, disbelieving laughter* Pretty much through the whole episode. Well, maybe not the Sam parts, which I'm still not sure how I feel about. But I LOVE Castiel and Dean when they're together, Cas is so adorably clueless and awkward and at the same time intimidating and graceful and... *incoherent babbling.* He provides a great foil for Dean. And ohhh Misha's facial expressions. Priceless. And that is my non-spoilery reaction, because I don't feel like making a cut. :p Yep.

oh fandom, food, writing, supernatural
